Li Ruohong, the Chairman of the China World Peace Foundation, held a meeting with H.E.Ms. Li Wen, the representative of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in China, at the Peace Garden Museum. They discussed in depth the sustainable cooperation for assisting migrant children, focusing on cross-border immigration governance, assistance for migrant families, protection of the rights of special children, and the establishment of international sustainable projects. They particularly delved into the challenges faced by single-parent families resulting from cross-border marriages between Chinese and Cambodian or Chinese and Vietnamese individuals. Both parties focused on core issues such as mental health counseling, growth support, and social integration for cross-border single-parent children, and explored the establishment of a systematic and long-term psychological intervention and public welfare assistance system.

This meeting is based on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, using the pain points of cross-border livelihoods in Chinese hometowns as a starting point, and leveraging resources from international organizations, domestic functional departments, and advanced overseas experiences. The aim is to implement a number of replicable and sustainable cross-border public welfare projects, improve the assistance system for cross-border marriages and special children, and promote the integration and improvement of the livelihoods of Chinese and foreign migrants.
