
On 30 July 2026, Chairman Li Ruohong attended the China-Turkmenistan Cooperation and Exchange Conference. Held to coincide with the 35th Anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence, the event adopted this year’s core theme: “Independent and Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – A Homeland Where Galloping Steeds Bring Dreams to Fruition”. The year 2028 marks the International Year of International Law, established by consensus through a UN General Assembly resolution, following an initiative put forward by Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedow at the 80th Session of the UN General Assembly.
After the address by Palakhat Durdyyev, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to China, experts and scholars from the Turkmenistan Research Center of Lanzhou University, Gansu Academy of Social Sciences, Central Asia and Turkmenistan Research Center of Qinghai Minzu University, Jilin Insurance Company, the Chinese Equestrian Association and other institutions delivered speeches. They explored new pathways for China-Turkmenistan cooperation from diverse perspectives.
During the conference, Chairman Li Ruohong and Ambassador Palakhat Durdyyev toured the layout and premises of the National Pavilion. In their cordial meeting, they affirmed the positive outcomes of the event, exchanged views on bilateral and multilateral relations between China and Turkmenistan, and reached consensus on the value of resource allocation amid opportunities and challenges. The Ambassador subsequently introduced the head chef of the National Pavilion. In their conversation, Chairman Li Ruohong proposed cooperation initiatives linking Central Asian food and agriculture along the Silk Road with relevant municipal and provincial associations and industries in China, identifying this as a new path for interconnected development.
