On July 16, 2026, Professor Li Ruohong, Chairman of the China World Peace Foundation and Curator of Beijing Peace Garden Museum, met with a delegation of over 20 faculty and student representatives consisting of young people and scholars from prestigious American universities at Beijing Peace Garden Museum.

During the event, the delegation toured the International Friendship Forest, the International Peace StoneLandscape Corridor and all exhibition halls of Peace Garden Museum. They closely appreciated the unique charm of integrated Chinese and foreign cultures as well as the profound cultural heritage of peace, and gained in-depth insight into precious historical records of international people-to-people friendly exchanges.

Following the tour, Professor Li Ruohong held a vibrant, warm and pleasant thematic forum with the delegation. He elaborated on the development trajectory of the Foundation and Beijing Peace Garden Museum, its achievements in public welfare communication and international exchanges, and reviewed the time-honored history of people-to-people friendship between China and the United States. Drawing on the "50,000 Youth in Five Years" Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, under which China intends to invite 50,000 American teenagers to China for exchange and study within five years, Professor Li answered questions raised by delegates on youth interaction, peace advocacy, and exchanges and mutual learning among diverse civilizations.

The forum proceeded in a harmonious and dynamic atmosphere. Delegates took turns sharing their understanding and reflections on the concept of peace. An accompanying young artist delivered an impromptu piano performance, filling the entire event with a warm and tender ambiance. All participants acknowledged that the visit and exchange were substantial and rewarding, granting them a profound awareness of the value of peace and the pivotal significance of cross-border people-to-people and cultural exchanges.

Jointly sponsored by the United Front Work Department of the CPC Chaoyang District Committee, Beijing, the Western Returned Scholars Association and the General Federation of Chinese Students, Artists and Scholars in North America, this event bears far-reaching significance for Sino-U.S. non-governmental friendship and cultural dialogue.
