On May 16th, the United Nations International Day for Peace and Coexistence, a grand press conference and launch ceremony for the World Youth Photography Art Exhibition jointly organized by the China World Peace Foundation, the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation, the Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique（FIAP）, and the Weifang Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China was successfully held at the Friendship Hall of the Beijing Exhibition Center.  Chairman Li Ruohong expressed his respect for all photography artists, affirming the unique value of light and shadow art in documenting the times and conveying warmth. He stated that in the current complex and ever-changing international situation, the integration of civilizations and technological innovation have profoundly altered the global landscape. Photography art serves as an important medium for connecting the emotions of various countries and spreading the concept of peace.

As an official partner of UNESCO, the foundation has been continuously deepening its efforts in people-to-people diplomacy and cross-civilization cooperation. In April this year, Li Ruohong had a meeting with the new director-general of UNESCO, H.E.Khaled El-Enany. Both sides reached important consensus on issues such as global governance and dialogue on Silk Road civilizations, and laid the groundwork for the smooth visit of Director-General H.E.Khaled El-Enany.i to China in early May, thus strengthening the foundation for international peace and public welfare as well as people-to-people cooperation.

 It is reported that over the years, the foundation has continuously developed a series of international brand activities such as Peace Garden Peace Festival, Global Youth Photography Competition, and Classical Music Salon. Currently, the eighth Global Youth Photography Competition has launched a global call for entries on the UNESCO website. Relying on the Peace Garden Silk Road International Experimental Center and the International Volunteer Base platform, the foundation will continue to work with international communities to deepen the mutual learning of Silk Road civilizations through the medium of light and shadow, and contribute to the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
