The UFWD of Xicheng District and the BIPCF jointly discussed cooperation to empower international exchanges and regional development

On November 13, 2025, a cooperation symposium between the United Front Work Department of Xicheng District Committee of Beijing, the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation and the Peace Garden Museum was held in the second-floor meeting room of the Beijing Peace Garden Museum. Jiang LAN, member of the Standing Committee of the District Committee and Minister of United Front Work, Jiang Xiaohui, Deputy Minister of the District Committee of United Front Work, Director of the District Taiwan Affairs Office and Director of the District Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, Li Ruohong, President of the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation, Yang Huishi, former deputy Director of the Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and Wang Hongzhuan, secretary-general of the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation, attended the symposium and had in-depth discussions on issues such as resource sharing, project cooperation and international exchanges,reaching a series of consensuses.

During the symposium, Minister Jiang LAN comprehensively introduced the unique positioning and development advantages of Xicheng District as the core area of the capital's functions. She pointed out that Xicheng District is the core carrier area of the national political center, cultural center and international communication center, and has built the core support for regional development with five business cards: "National Hub", "Beijing Financial Street", "Historical Culture", "Public Services" and "Quality Business District". As a national financial management center, the Financial Street gathers national-level financial institutions such as the "One Bank, one Bureau and one Commission", as well as over 1,900 financial units. The added value of the financial industry accounts for 60% of the district's GDP and 40% of the city's total. The agglomeration effect of financial resources is remarkable. Meanwhile, the region is rich in intangible cultural heritage projects and has prominent cultural and educational resources. Cultural landmarks such as Tianqiao and Xuan Nan Guild Hall have been rejuvenated. The construction of the three major performance clusters in the north, central and south is steadily advancing. The protection, inheritance and innovative development of park and street culture have achieved remarkable results, laying a solid foundation for cultural exchange and industrial integration. Minister Jiang LAN emphasized that the resource endowment and development layout of Xicheng District provide a broad platform for conducting international exchanges and promoting high-quality development.

Li Ruohong, the President of the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation, elaborated in detail on the foundation's international cooperation layout and the achievements of its public welfare projects. He said that the foundation has long been deeply cooperating with UNESCO and has created a series of internationally influential exchange brands, such as the "Peace Garden Silk Road International Experimental Center", the "Peace Garden Peace Festival", and the "Silk Road Photography Competition in the Eyes of Global Youth". Among them, the "Peace Garden Peace Festival" has been successfully held for twelve consecutive years, attracting the participation of political leaders, envoys and people from all walks of life from over a hundred countries. The online dissemination has reached more than 100 million people. The Global Youth Photography Competition has received over 100,000 entries from more than 120 countries and regions, serving as an important bridge for cross-cultural communication. President Li Ruohong expounded that the foundation has always adhered to the concept of "uniting international resources with public welfare power to promote sustainable, widely beneficial and fruitful project development". By integrating domestic enterprises and expert volunteer resources, it has accumulated rich experience in areas such as cultural dissemination and youth exchanges.

After in-depth communication, both sides reached an agreement on establishing a long-term cooperative relationship and identified three key areas of cooperation: First, jointly create the "Financial Forum for Private Economy and High-Quality Development", relying on the financial resource advantages of Xicheng District and the international network of the foundation, to build a high-end exchange platform for the development of the private economy; Second, deepen the cooperation in the "Xicheng District Cultural Sector", in line with the trend of all-element urban renewal and the integration of culture and technology, promote high-quality resources such as Tianqiao Performing Arts and Xuan Nan Guild Hall culture to go international, and facilitate the dynamic inheritance and innovative dissemination of intangible cultural heritage. Third, jointly build a "University and secondary School Education Alliance", draw on the experience of global youth photography competitions and other projects, carry out cross-border study Tours, cultural exchanges and other activities, and cultivate the international perspective of young people.
