At 13 o’clock on June 19, 2015, the 16th Peace Cup International Tournament and charity donation activities were held in Beijing Honghua International Golf Club. The theme of this event is “to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the United Nations and of UNESCO, to support the bid of Beijing for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games”. This event received a lot of international attention and support. Over one hundred people including Albanian Ambassador to China Mr. Kujtim Xhani, Moldovan Ambassador to China Mr. Anatolie Urecheanu, Maldivian Ambassador to China Mr. Mohamed Faisal, Deputy Chief of Embassy of Pakistan to China, Counselors of Singapore and of the Philippines, Director of Canadian non-government organizations and multinational corporation presidents, artists, celebrities from all over the world have participated in this public welfare activity.

During the past sixteen years in a row, the sponsor has taken “Peace + 1” as the central concept, promoted world peace though peace, helped to de-escalate tensions in certain areas, relieved underprivileged countries and vulnerable groups. Concerning national and international focal issues is the duty of each organization committee. For example: helping Wenchuan and Yushu earthquake areas, leukemia patients, Tibetan children with congenital heart disease, schools for the blind, education of migrant workers’ children, schools for deaf-mutes in Nepal, drug rehabilitation of Maldivian teenagers, etc. According to the convention, the organization committee focused attention on the teaching assistant problem in underdeveloped areas, thus donated the funds of participants to Enterprises in Beijing Favoring Educators & Developing Education Foundation.

The Peace Cup International Tournament has been held for sixteen years. This year, the event was host by Beijing Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (BAEFI), Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (BPAFFC), Beijing NGO Association for International Exchanges, China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services (BAFTS) and China World Peace Foundation (CWPF), and was undertaken by Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation and Jiangsu Richland Agriculture Corp.Inc.

Mr. Xing Gongjie, Chairman of Beijing Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (BAEFI) and Director of “Peace Cup” Organization Committee, and Dr. Li Ruohong, Chairman of China World Peace Foundation (CWPF) reviewed interesting stories of successive tournaments during the award ceremony, expressed their thanks to people with sincere support and wished all people a happy Dragon Boat Festival.
