A delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs led by Dr. Li Ruohong, Chairman of China World Peace Foundation (CWPF) and Honorary Investment Counselor of Pakistani Government together with Mrs. Han Lu, Director of Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation (BJIPCF) and Vice President of Chinese Female Doctors Association visited Islamabad and Karachi from Mar. 24th to 29th, 2015 at the invitation of the Pakistani government.
The delegation met separately with Mr. Mamnoon Hussain, President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr. Kamran Ali Qureshi, Secretary of Ministry of Science & Technology, Mr Syed Iftikhar Hussain Babar, Secretary of Board of Investment (BOI), Dr. Zahir Shah, Project Director/CPEC Coordinator of Ministry of Planning, Development & Reform, Mr. Muzzamil Hussain Sabri, Presdient of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry, SENATOR Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Chairman of Senate Defence Committee etc. The delegation was well-received by the Pakistani government officials as well as the people. The government officials spoke highly of the friendship of China and Pakistan, supported “One Belt One Road” strategy (The “Silk Road Economic Belt" and the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road") initiated by the Chinese government and was determined to speed up the construction of “China-Pakistan Economic Corridor”. The delegation was feted by President of Pakistan at the Presidential Palace, where the President delivered a speech to thank 500 corporations from both countries for participating in the Pak-China 2015 Business Forum and ended the speech with “Long live our friendship!”.
Dr Li Ruohong, on behalf of CWPF and BJIPCF, signed the MOUs respectively with Pakistan-China Institute and Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The cooperation between the two counties involves in various areas such as energy, industry, agriculture, finance, service trade, ecological environment, media, culture, education, travel, information security, infrastructure construction, urban construction ect.
When interviewed by Pakistani state television, Dr Li said, China is Pakistan’s all-weather friend. There is solid foundation for both the political and economic cooperation between the two countries. We share the cultural similarities. It’s our friendship, national power and opportunity that brought us together to promote the public and civil diplomacy with academic think tank, cultural diversity, industry alliance and international charities in the model of “Peace+1”, which will promote regional peace and harmonious development in a variety of areas between China and Pakistan.
