On September 19th , 2025, the ceremony of the 12th  "Peace Garden Peace Festival" and the 7th  "Silk Road in the Eyes of Global Youth" photo Contest was grandly held in the Peace Garden Museum Community in Beijing. This event aims to celebrate the United Nations' "International Day of Peace", as well as the 80th anniversary of the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, and the 80th  anniversary of the founding of UNESCO. With the theme of "Joining Hands on the Silk Road to Build a Garden of Peace", It is jointly hosted by UNESCO, the China World Peace Foundation, the China Radio and Television Association, the Beijing Association for International Exchange of Civil Organizations, the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in China, and the Cultural Section of the Embassy of Austria in China. More than 100 countries' political leaders, diplomatic envoys, government officials, representatives of international organizations, artists, scholars and well-known figures from all walks of life participated in the event offline. Over 100 million people watched the ceremony online. The event was live-streamed globally through the official website of UNESCO.

He hopes to rely on the "Peace Garden Peace Festival" as a platform for exchange and mutual learning to comprehensively promote the "Global · Good Deeds Disseminator" cultural public welfare action plan, focusing on the theme of peace and advocating the universal values of kindness and inclusiveness. Delve deeply into the cultural stories of the ancient Silk Road and the countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, and showcase their eternal charm and contemporary value as a bridge for the exchange of human civilizations.

Former Egyptian Prime Minister H.E.Mr.Isam Sharaf sent a video congratulatory message, stating: "Both the ancient and modern Silk Roads have been centered on the core concept of 'connectivity'." And with a common peace, a higher level of development can be achieved. The Belt and Road Initiative has injected new impetus into the global economy, created global development opportunities, and built a new platform for international economic cooperation.

H.E.Ms.Annette NIJS, the former Minister of Education, Science and Culture of the Netherlands, delivered a video message, saying: "The Silk Road is a road of wisdom, calling for peaceful coexistence among humanity." The root of peace lies in wisdom. Cooperation among countries should not be a struggle for power but a sharing of happiness. From history to the present, from Xi 'an, China to Florence, Italy, humanity has long reached a consensus: the world one, and only by sharing wisdom in a peaceful way can common wealth be created. Let's join hands with the Silk Road and build a garden of peace together.

Mr. Durdyev, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to China, said in his speech: "Turkmenistan’s role in strengthening peace and trust with the United Nations as the backbone of global peace and guarantor of interests of all. Cooperation with UN is a cornerstone of our foreign policy strategy of non-confrontational resolution of interstate issues”.

In his speech, H.E. Mr. Selcuk Unal, the Ambassador of Turkey to China, mentiod ned: "Türkiye is located in a region surrounded by challenges such as active anfrozen conflicts as well as international disputes..yThat is why Türkiye attaches great importance to promote sustained peace, stability and prosperity in its neighborhood and beyond.This goal has found its best expression in Atatürk’s motto of “Peace at Home, Peace in the World”. Today, this principle continues to be the main driving force of our foreign policy.

In his speech, H.E. Mr. Ahmed Mustafa F. Hafez , the Ambassador of the League of Arab States to China, expressed his gratitude to the organizers such as UNESCO and the China World Peace Foundation: "It is you who have enabled 'peace' to always gather the power that transcends national boundaries." When it comes to the "Silk Road", the Arab world and China have shared an emotional resonance for thousands of years. The ancient Silk Road witnessed the exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and Arab civilizations. Today, the Belt and Road Initiative has rejuvenated this bond of peace. The International Youth Photography Competition is a practical act to sow the seeds of peace. The Arab League is willing to work with China and other countries to deepen cooperation in the spirit of the Silk Road, promote the Middle East peace process and contribute the wisdom of China and Arab states. We are more willing to safeguard the seeds of peace in the hearts of teenagers, allowing them to record the beauty with their cameras and convey kindness through their actions, so that the concept of peace can be passed down from generation to generation.

As an important part of the event, the "Silk Road in the Eyes of Global Youth" photography competition is jointly organized by the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation and UNESCO. Since its establishment, the competition has attracted teenagers from over 120 countries to participate and has received more than 100,000 entries in total. The competition breaks down the barriers of national boundaries and languages, helping young people from various countries gradually cultivate an international perspective and a sense of responsibility for the future during the participation process. At the event site, experts from UNESCO announced the list of winners of this competition. Mr. Zeng Yi, the representative of the international judges, called on more teenagers to participate. The theme of this photography competition is "Women: Guardians of the Silk Road Heritage", and over 50 award-winning works were displayed on site.

On the day of the event, the Beijing International Peace Foundation presented peace MEDALS to the newly appointed foreign ambassadors to China and renowned artists. Meanwhile, under the framework of the "Belt&Road International Food Corridor", an international food culture exchange event with the theme of "Taste Spreads Peace, Cuisine Connects the World" and the awarding ceremony of the first Silk Road Food Culture Ambassador were held. A Flying Tigers photo exhibition was also held to celebrate the 80th  anniversary of the victory over fascism.
