In the 2025  Lantern Festival, a new traditional cultural exchange activity was staged in the Beijing International Community. Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation, Beijing Peace Garden Museum, together with Niuwangmiao Community, invited international families from Germany, France, the United States, Pakistan, Austria, Africa and other countries to participate in the activity of the Lantern Festival, celebrate the romantic Yuanxiao Festival and feel the unique charm of traditional Chinese festivals.

Dr. Li Ruohong, Chairman of the China World Peace Foundation, pointed out in his welcome speech that cultural exchanges are of great significance in enhancing international solidarity and cooperation in the complex international situation. This year is the first year after Chinese Spring Festival's successful application for World Heritage. It is gratifying to experience the Spring Festival culture with families from all over the world. Ms.Zhao Xiaoyan, the secretary of Niuwangmiao Community, also expressed that we are all part of an international family and hope to take this opportunity to jointly build a peaceful and cultural community, and make efforts to build Beijing as an international consumption center city.

At the event site, traditional projects such as watching lanterns and guessing puzzles, shaking Yuanxiao (Filled round balls made of glutinous rice-flour for Lantern Festival), tasting Yuanxiao , Paper Cuttings, knitting knots and so on immersed international friends in the strong atmosphere of Chinese culture. The violin solo brought by German child Elfi Stahlecker added a unique joy to the event. International families said that through this activity, they had a deep understanding of the rich connotation of the Lantern Festival, which made the Spring Festival trip in China full of fun and felt the warmth and happiness of the community family.

The exquisite lantern display area, with colorful and diverse lanterns, carries profound culture and creates a strong festive atmosphere. Foreign friends are taking photos in the check-in area, experiencing the charm of traditional Chinese culture through lanterns.
