On April 9^th , on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and DPRK and the "China DPRK Friendship Year", the Embassy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in China, together with the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Exhibition Bureau, held the "112th Anniversary of the Birth of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il sung" Sun Festival celebration event at the Beijing Peace Garden Museum. H.E.Mr. Ri Ryong Nam, the Ambassador of DPRK to China., together with Dr. Li Ruohong, Chairman of the China World Peace Foundation and President of the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation, and representatives and artists from various sectors of society such as the Beijing Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Anti Japanese League, and other organizations, jointly reviewed the profound friendship between the people of China and DPRK.

Ambassador H.E.Mr. Ri Ryong Nam stated, "At the beginning of the  New Year 2024, the highest leaders of both parties exchanged congratulatory messages announcing the launch of the DPRK China Friendship Year, providing valuable guidance for the two countries to further strengthen friendship,solidarity, and cooperation in political, economic,and cultural fields in accordance with the requirements of the new era. We believe that under the deep care and strategic guidance of the leaders of both parties, the traditional friendship between DPRK and China created and nurtured by the older generation of leaders will help us to overcome all challenges, face a better future, and continue to be strengthened and developed.".

In his speech, President Li Ruohong said: "It is the common proposition and mission of the two countries to maintain, consolidate and develop the traditional friendship between China and the DPRK. To operate the 'China DPRK Friendship Year' well is the common aspiration of the two peoples with history, warmth, stories, expectations and sustainability. The world peace maintained by the two countries with blood and life has the value of the times. Wars, conflicts and people's livelihood in the century of great changes are still challenges we face. 'Peace+1' and 'Belt and Road' cultural interaction are effective ways for us to protect and disseminate the world cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage, which affect the stability of the multilateral region and achieve a community of shared future for mankind."

At the celebration, everyone watched the recorded footage of Kim Il sung and the older generation of Chinese leaders, and representatives from all walks of life jointly commemorated the deep friendship between the two peoples during the war, who worked together to defend peace and security on the Korean Peninsula with their blood and lives. After appreciating the museum collection,the guests also enjoyed cultural products related to Korean ethnic customs and people's livelihoods. While watching DPRK's unique literary and artistic performances, many Chinese songs by DPRK actors were applauded by all the audiences.
