On April 12, the Embassy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea（DPRK） in China, together with Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation, Belt.China,org.cn and the exhibition bureau of DPRK jointly held the Sun Festival commemoration of "commemorating the 110th anniversary of the birth of the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung" in Peace Garden Museum. Mr. Li Longnan, DPRK Ambassador to China, together with Dr. Li Ruohong,  Chairman of China World Peace Foundation and President of Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation, and representatives of government agencies, social circles and artists such as the Beijing Association for friendship with foreign countries and the China Association for international friends, talked freely about the profound friendship between the peoples of China and the DPRK.

Ambassador Li Longnan said: I am very grateful to President Li Ruohong of the China World Peace Foundation for his contribution to the friendship between the two countries. He is a pioneer of the friendship between the DPRK and the Chinese peoples and has held many cultural exchange events between the two countries. I hope to continue to work for China DPRK friendship. The friendship between the peoples of China and the DPRK goes back to ancient times. Comrade Kim Il Sung and the older generation of Chinese revolutionary leaders have made immortal achievements for the happiness, freedom and liberation of the people,determining the brilliant development direction. The new generation of leaders has also promoted the development of bilateral relations and friendship between the two peoples and played a positive role in peace and regional stability.

In his speech, President Li Ruohong said: The traditional friendship between China and the DPRK has not come easily. The "Main Body Thoughts" and "Safeguarding the Country" have historical value and practical significance. At present intense international situation in which we fight the epidemic together, peaceful development, cultural interaction ,people's livelihood and public welfare are of great importance to the people of the world. We hope to train more young people from the two countries who know the DPRK and China, strengthening cooperation among overseas Chinese from all countries, jointly safeguarding regional security, combining the United Nations sustainable development goals with the construction of the "Silk Road" and promoting the process of "peace+1" of people's diplomacy. Only those who have been through the rains can understand the importance of umbrellas.During the Centennial changes, let's jointly respect the interests and concerns of the two peoples.

During the celebration, the participants watched the special videos of precious collections reflecting international friendship and appreciated Kim Il Sung flowers displayed in the Kim Il Sung Memorial Hall. Representatives from all walks of life also shared the memory of the deep friendship between the two peoples in the past war era, who worked together to defend freedom and liberation, and discussed how to strengthen cooperation and development under the current epidemic situation. Accompanied by President Li Ruohong, the DPRK Ambassador to China and his entourage visited the Peace Garden Museum and presented North Korean works of art to the museum. President Li Ruohong presented a medal symbolizing peace and friendship to Ambassador Li Longnan. The two sides held talks with representatives from all walks of life, hoping to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various fields and carry forward China DPRK friendship.
