At noon on July 16, Professor Li Ruohong, President of Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation , held a farewell talk in Peace Garden for the outgoing Tunisian Ambassador to China, Mr. and Mrs. DHIA Khaled. Zhao Jianping, former leader of China Development Bank, and Tang Xinyu, former leader of Bank of China, joined the talk.

During the talks, Professor Li Ruohong and H.E.Mr. DHIA Khaled, Ambassador of Tunisia to China,together with their spouses,reviewed the precious personal friendship since they met in 2016 and the friendship between the two peoples. They agreed that Tunisia, as a civilized country with a history of 4000 years, has a long history of friendship with Chinese civilization. From the ancient Silk Road to modern economic and cultural exchanges, there are many similarities between China and Turkey. Professor Li Ruohong suggested that the Tunisian ambassador and his wife establish a cultural column of "the Silk Road in Tunisia's eyes" through cooperation with the Foundation to promote multi-field exchanges between China and Turkey.

The couple of Tunisian Ambassador to China have deep ties with China. Their parents led a Tunisian parliamentary delegation to visit China as early as 1956. As a descendant of the older generation of Tunisian national independence representatives, H.E.Mr.DHIA Khaled, Tunisian Ambassador to China, deeply praised the changes of China in recent years. He has been witnessing the great changes in Beijing between the year 2000 when he first came to China and the year 2016 when he took office as ambassador to China , and felt the people's sense of happiness.

At the time of his departure, H.E.Mr.DHIA Khaled, Ambassador of Tunisia to China, said that his departure from office turned a page of his term in China and opened a new chapter in the book of friendship with the China World Foundation and the Chinese people.
