The 3rd Edition of the Youth Eyes on the Silk Roads Photo Contest Starts Global Solicitation

The 3rd Edition of the Youth Eyes on the Silk Roads Photo Contest jointly organized by UNESCO and China World Peace Foundation is about to be launched on May 17th, and it is currently soliciting contributions from the global youth,the deadline for submission is August 1st , 2021.

UNESCO and China World Peace Foundation hereby invite all participants of two age groups: 14-17 years old and 18-25 years old to register their user information and submit their contributions directly on the home page of the competition.

The themes of the third edition of contest are the Shared Heritage of the Silk Roads in the field of Textile and Clothing. and consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic on the intercultural exchanges in the contemporary world.

The Youth Eyes on the Silk Roads Photo Contest, co-hosted by UNESCO and China World Peace Foundation, is organized as part of the UNESCO Silk Roads Programme, this photo contest aims to raise awareness among youth about the relevance of the shared heritage of the Silk Roads in modern times. 

The first edition of the international contest, took place from 11 April to 22 July 2018. In total 6,625 photos were submitted by young girls and boys from 100 countries along the Silk Roads. The young photographers were invited to take photos that represent the Silk Roads heritage for them within four major themes of “Culture, Monuments, Landscape and People”(The pictures below shows some award-winning works).

The second edition of the international contest, took place from September 19th,2019 to January 6th, 2020.It provides an excellent opportunity for young people all over the world to capture and understand the common heritage of the Silk Road through cameras. The participants participated in the competition through themed food and cooking, music and dance, and traditional games and sports(The pictures below shows some award-winning works).
