On the afternoon of December 9th , Venezuela's new Ambassador to China and former Minister of People’s Power for Tourism and Foreign Trade, H.E.Felix Plasencia visited Peace Garden museum with his Minister counsellor and other staff, and held friendly long talks with Dr. Li Ruohong, Chairman of China World Peace Foundation and President of Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation, on the cooperation in various fields between the two countries. Dr. Li Ruohong awarded the "Peace Ambassador" medal to H.E.Ambassador Felix Plasencia.

Dr. Li Ruohong welcomed and congratulated the Ambassador on his new tenure and introduced the Foundation's past, present and future projects in cultural interaction, international exchanges and peace public welfare activities, and the development concept of "peace + 1". He also said that he was honored to be awarded the "Peace Hero Award" by the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2017. He has been paying close attention to Venezuela's development in recent years, and put forward suggestions on Venezuela's social economy and protection of world heritage, women and youth, which affect the peaceful dialogue and resource allocation of Caribbean and Latin American countries. He also talked about the future development of Venezuela through e-commerce, friendly cities, and friendly communities and other forms of cooperation in ethnic unity and religious harmony.

H.E. Ambassador Plasencia expressed his gratitude to Dr. Li Ruohong for his constructive suggestions, admired the Foundation's past achievements and highly agreed with the work philosophy of the Foundation. He also said: Peace is Venezuela's primary goal. As a new immigrant country in Latin America, Venezuela has a very rich population structure, with many immigrants from Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. After more than 200 years of development, Venezuela's culture is extremely inclusive, with multi-ethnic exchanges and integration, and with harmonious development of religions. Women are highly respected in Venezuela. Not only are there more women than men in the electorate, but there are also more women than men in Parliament. Venezuela is rich in energy resources, as well as world heritage and intangible cultural heritage, such as Central University City, Coro City and Port, Canaima National Park, Devil Dance, etc. What's more, Venezuela's National Foundation for Youth Orchestra System (EL Sistema), which was established by the famous musician Jose Antonio Abreu, has changed the fates of children of poor families by ways of music since 1975, and has also enjoyed a high reputation in the world. H.E.Ambassador Plasencia sincerely hopes to carry out in-depth cooperation with the Foundation in music, art and culture in the future, and invites the Foundation for further  communications and talks in due course.
