On June 3rd 2014, Assistant Director-Generalof UNESCO, Mr. Hans D’Oville and his party visited Peace Garden Museum, ChinaWorld Peace Foundation and Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation. Theytoured around the Peace Garden Museum and the peace inscription stones by theleaders of different countries along the lakeside. Providing creative featuresand its influences, the Peace Garden is perceived like a mini United Nations ora civil “Diaoyutai Guesthouse” by the senior UNESCO official. Assistant Director-Generalhad a further discussion with Mr. Li Ruohong on the future actions followingthe cooperative agreement. Afterwards, Chairman Li Ruohong made a presentationabout how the foundation exercises influence on the government and to bring enterprisesin; how China World Peace Foundation is to put into action the “Peace+1” serialevents and “Going to Africa” projects. Mr. Hans pointed out that 2014 is the centenaryof the ending of the First World War, while 2015 will be the 70thanniversary of the founding of UNESCO, and will also be the starting point ofthe new UN Millennium Development Goals. At such an important moment of the history,the signing of this strategic cooperative partnership agreement is of greatsignificants and the cooperation of both party will definitely embrace new opportunities.
