2018 The 14th China Extraordinary Corporate Citizen Annual Award Ceremony was held in Beijing
On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Reform and Opening-Up, the 14th China Extraordinary Corporate Citizen Annual Award Ceremony was held on 12 November 2018 in Beijing, with the theme “Promoting Targeted Performing of Duty and Energizing Smart Enterprises”. Over 150 guests, including heads of related organizations, experts and scholars, representatives of social responsibility sectors, member enterprises including the Fortune Global 500, central enterprises, SOEs, and private companies, and mainstream media attended the ceremony and conducted discussion revolving targeted performing of duty of smart enterprises.

Mr. Liu Jing, deputy chairman and secretary of China Association of Social Workers and founder of China Committee of Corporate Citizenship, said in his remarks, “In the past 40 years, China's economy has grown from small to big, from weak to strong. For a long time, as the driving force of our economic growth, enterprises and entrepreneurs have conducted self-discipline as corporate citizenship requires, embrace responsibility with passion, dare to be the first to innovate, forge ahead with perseverance, and pioneer with arduous efforts. They are indispensable forces for the development of China’s socialist market economy.”
Prof. Li Ruohong, president of Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation delivered a keynote speech
Prof. Li Ruohong, president of China World Peace Foundation and Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation said in his keynote speech, “Enterprise citizens shall employ both “coming in” and “going out” measures, attach equal importance to cultural exchanges and economic and trade cooperation, guide and encourage enterprises to consciously fulfill social responsibilities and integrate in the Belt and Road Initiative, and make due contributions to the sharing of fruits of scientific and cultural development and achieving win-win results in economic growth.” He further pointed out that enterprise citizens in the new era should pay attention to two aspects in knowledge and action. First, adopt a broader vision. Do not limit ourselves and merely see a nation with 1.3 billion Chinese people, but 7 billion world citizens; Second, learn from selfless Lei Feng, grow in will and capability to innovatively conduct international public welfare, and show courage to take responsibilities.

Prof. Dan Kammen, Nobel Laurent and Designer of smart villages said in his keynote speech, “We see the trend in the new century of developing toward the application of clean energy, while the commercial environment for clean energy has not seen radical improvement. These years, China has been devoted to the development of clean energy and achieved abundant results, but imbalance still exists among different regions. Through meticulous design and vigorously develop clean energy technology, China has improved eco-environment and the quality of life in the rural areas in different degrees and boosted rural economic growth and revitalization.
