H.E. Mr. Ambassador highly affirmed the China World Peace Foundation’s prestige and influence in the international community and appreciated its contribution to the cause of peace.
He said that Cuba and China has long-lasting great relations. The efforts made by both sides to deepen bilateral relationship require support from the foundation. Cuba has actively responded to the Belt and Road Initiative. In the recent 29th Economic and Trade Mixed Committee between Governments of Cuba and China, Cuba has reviewed its economic and trade relations with China. Looking into the prospects of future cooperation, Cuba hopes to work more closely with China on practicable projects of the Belt and Road.
H.E. Mr. Ambassador also mentioned that Cuba would like to participate in the Peace Festival. Cuba has always supported world peace and has done a great deal of work with great significance, including the contribution to the Colombian peace process and interreligious cooperation. Fidel Castro, Cuba’s Commander-in-Chief, had always defended peace and disarmament as a human right for all humanity and an indispensable condition for survival of humankind. He had been fighting for peace and left Cuba precious legacy. Cuba finds the Peace Festival in September a great opportunity to convey this heritage and express the pursuit of peace.
