The 18th February 2017, Mr. Hans d’Orville, Assistant Director-General for Strategic Planning of UNESCO and his wife have visited the Peace Garden, and held a friendly meeting with Dr. Li Ruohong, President of China World Peace Foundation and Beijing International Peace Cultural Foundation. 

Mr. Hans expressed his delight to visit the Peace Garden, honored as “Little United Nations”, and recalled the pleasant collaborations during his tenure of UNESCO with the Foundation, such as “The Way of Slaves”, “Chinese Kongfu Moves in Africa”, “Youth Photography” and so on. Especially the “Heyuan Peace Festival” which has been organized three years consecutively, has enormously contributed to the cause of the world peace and been highly appraised by international community. 

Dr. Li expressed his gratitude to Mr. Hans, who has promoted the cooperation between the Foundation and the UNESCO. Dr. Li introduced also the concerns of the Foundation, such as the “Interactive Atlas of Cultural Interactions along the Silk Road”, “Youth Eyes on the Silk Road” and the official site of the “Belt and Road”, etc.
