July 1stwitnessed the Second Executive Council of ECCAC (Economic & CommercialCounselors Alliance in China) taking place in Peace Garden Museum after ninecountries’ commercial counselors to China were elected as executive directors ofthe alliance on April 6th. The council was presided over by chairmanof the alliance, Egyptian Minister Dr. Osman. In the meeting, He thanked allthe members for their support to the alliance's work and trust in his own. Dueto the expiration of his office, a new chairman needs to be elected to lead thealliance. It was agreed that K.N. ATUAHENE will work as acting chairman. Hethanked chairman’s recommendation, and all the members for their trust. He wasalso committed to assuming the responsibility of acting chairman, andfacilitating the alliance’s routine work.
In the meeting,Li Ruohong, chairman of China World Peace Foundation, and other executivedirectors highly commended what Osman had done and discussed the priority ofthe following work. Under the joint efforts of acting chairman ATUAHENE and theother members, the alliance will have its voices in economic, cultural, socialresponsibility, and international community, and strengthen its continuity withthe national initiatives One Belt One Road and Entrepreneurship and Innovation.It was also agreed that some Chinese enterprises and social organizations wouldbe invited to be the alliance’s strategic partners and council members.
