On May 31st, Mr. Li Ruohong, chairman of China World Peace Foundation received at the Peace Garden Museum an old friend Mr. Mohamed Rasheed, former Maldivian ambassador to China and president of China-Maldivian Cultural Association.Mr. Li Ruohong and Mr. Mohamed Rasheed renewed their friendship forged over the years and reviewed current international situations. They held shared views on many fronts including teenage drug rehabilitation, public welfare and charity.

During the meeting, Mr. Mohamed Rasheedm talked on the recent work within China-Maldivian Cultural Association and expressed his intention of organizing a cultural winter camp in China for Maldivian students by the end of this year.Mr. Mohamed Rasheed studied Chinese in Taiwan, China in 1971 and met his Chinese wife for the first time. Since then, it has become his aspiration to promote more frequent and profound cultural exchanges between China and Maldives.Chairman Li spoke highly of the great contribution made by China-Maldivian Cultural Association in strengthening China-Maldivian friendly relationship and pledged that China World Peace Foundation wished to cooperate with China-Maldivian Cultural Association to further facilitate the bilateral cultural exchange.
