On the evening of Dec. 28th, 2015, Mr. Li Ruohong, Chairman of China World Peace Foundation, together with Curator of Peace Garden Museum held a farewell feast for Mme. Nathalie Gissel Menos and her husband, exchanging sentiments of friendship and exploring ways for multilateral cooperation with Caribbean countries, including those which haven’t established diplomatic relationship with People’s Republic of China.
Mme. Nathalie Gissel Menos, the outgoing Representative of Haiti to China, gave a thorough introduction on the culture and customs of Haiti and its neighboring countries, stressing Haiti’s unique geographical advantage in the Caribbean area. Mr. Li congratulated Mme. Menos on her contributions made during her tenure as a professional diplomat for promoting Haiti’s cooperation with China and highly commended her charisma in dealing with the relation with China, a country without official diplomatic ties with Haiti. Mme. Menos expressed her gratitude to Mr. Li for all the support he had made during her stay in China and highly praised the positive image of China World Peace Foundation in safeguarding world peace, promising that she would continue her efforts in maintaining and pushing forward Haiti’s friendly exchanges with CWPF and BJIFCF after she leaves office.
Besides her official position as a diplomat, Mme. Menos is also an accomplished artist. During this visit to Peace Garden Museum, she brought with her a work of a Haitian artist as a souvenir, hoping to getting more and more people to know about Haiti, as well as the Caribbean Area through art.
