On Nov. 16th, a delegation led by Mr. Li Ruohong, Chairman of CWPF, attended the premiere of the mirco-film Watch the Distance supervised by the Central Liaison Commission of China Association for Promoting Democracy. Mr.Li donated popular science readings compiled by the foundation and commemorative stamps to the present children, who were left behind by their parents working in distant cities.

At the beginning of the opening ceremony, Mr. Kong Xiangren, Secretary-General delivered a impassioned speech on behalf of CWPF. He said, the first screening and the distribution of the micro-film would gather attention of more people to the special group of left-behind children and involve more people into the efforts of caring for them. As a NGO dedicated to civil diplomacy and public welfare cause, CWPF would make its humble contribution to the financing of their studies. He called for attention from all circles of the society to these children and other vulnerable groups.

This event was hosted by CWPF, a NGO committed to civil diplomacy and public welfare. With “International, neutral, cooperation, public welfare”as its tenet, the foundation has set up a platform for governments and civil societies with its “peace+1” mode as well as a sustainable system of “think tank-themed culture-international public welfare-industrial alliance”. With its thinking power, credibility, influence and action, CWPF has won support of 178 countries and international organizations, building a global network for governments, NGOs and enterprises.

This public benefit event is initiated by Dr. Li Ruohong, senior consultant of UNOP and vice chairman of the United Nations Information and Communication Technologies Task Force, Professor of University of Alberta. For years, Mr. Li has served diligently in international peace cause and thus won the honorable name of ”peace ambassador” and “civil diplomat” from the international society. The Peace Garden built under his initiative has been accredited as “mini-UN” and his book NGOs in China has been praised by Mr. Ban Ki-moon as the “most worthwhile collection”.

Mr. Li also sent his greetings during the book donation: ”Focusing on the international affair, scale the heights of science.”
